Participants of the 10th scientific and local lore conference “Bridschchyna – a land on the border of Galicia and Volyn”
The Brody History Museum mainly focuses on research, cultural exhibitions, and education. Much of its time and attention is devoted to studying local history, researching the collections, and replenishing the exhibits. The museum’s staff organises the ‘Bridshchyna – Galician and Volyn borderland region’ science and regional studies conference each year and has published conference findings since 2008.
For years, the Brody History Museum has worked closely with the Department of Education and with district schools. The museum trains teachers how to prepare local history lessons. Staff conduct museum and city tours as well as organises public lectures for the community.
The Brody History Museum assists students at Lviv’s Ivan Franko National University on archaeological excavations, with items being transferred to the museum afterwards for processing. Museum scientists participate in conferences, seminars, and roundtables organised by other museums, educational institutions, and non-profits across Ukraine.
Themed exhibitions and workshops are organised in the museum’s exhibition halls.
Staff has authored many scientific and popular science articles for press and educational institutions, as well as local history books, guidebooks, and brochures. They also maintain a close relationship with the Brody TV channel and are often called on to comment on local history on TV and radio programs.
